The award-winning program you know and love - the Children's Water Education Festival - has a new look and
a new name, and we hope you can join us for our 2021 event. The Orange County Youth Environmental Summit
(YES) will be held virtually Monday, April 19 through Friday, April 23. This extended
virtual format means more opportunities for learning and engagement.
YES presents a unique opportunity to educate third, fourth and fifth grade Orange County students about the
environment. Through a series of interactive and immersive presentations taught by well-known and respected experts
and organizations, students learn about a variety of environmental subjects.
YES is presented by the Orange County Water District (OCWD), National Water Research Institute and the Orange
County Water District Groundwater Guardian Team. The program is provided at no cost to Orange County schools.
Hosting an event of this magnitude is made possible by many generous sponsors, presenters and dedicated
volunteers. We are proud to work with such committed organizations and individuals each year.
Since its inception in 1997, more than 135,000 students have experienced YES and all it has to offer. Created
by former OCWD Director Philip L. Anthony as a means to educate Orange County students about their water
supply, YES has blossomed into a nationally recognized environmental education event featuring world-renowned
speakers and organizations. It is because of Director Anthony's vision, support and legacy that YES
continues to expand its reach and impact year after year.
