Dear Educator,
You and your students are invited to submit an application to attend the Orange County Youth
Environmental Summit, known previously as the Children's Water Education Festival, which will be
held virtually Monday, April 19 through Friday, April 23.
The mission of YES is to educate students about water-related and environmental issues that support Next
Generation Science Standards. YES teaches youth that they can make a difference in protecting our resources
today, tomorrow and for future generations.
We understand the importance of flexibility when it comes to educational programming. That is why YES will
combine a mix of live and on demand sessions taught by dozens of experts in the private, public and nonprofit
sectors. New content will be released daily, and teachers may select the sessions that best align with their
class goals and objectives.
You are not expected to attend every day (though you can if you want to.) Rather, we want YES to be a resource
for you and your students filled with interactive and engaging sessions, worksheets and grab-and-go activities
you can participate together in as a class when released, go back to at a later date, or even assign as
homework.
Registration is open to third, fourth and fifth grade Orange County public, private and home school teachers.
There is no cost to attend. If you and your students are interested in attending, please submit an
application of interest for your class no later than January 31, 2021.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please call (714) 378-3257 or
email ocyouthsummit@ocwd.com.
